Seattle Atheist Church is a place where atheists come together to do church: to address the Big Questions and celebrate meaningful life events with atheist rituals. We celebrate the values of Atheism (Critical Thinking, Scientific Naturalism, and Secular Ethics) by teaching, learning, and thoughtful discussion.
Seattle Atheist Church was founded on the principles of scientific naturalism and secular ethics. Truth claims are attempted here, and we stand ready to revise our thinking in light of new information. We attempt to be excellent to other conscious beings. We believe in good because good works in non-mysterious ways.
In order to be an atheist, all that is required is to not believe in gods. At Seattle Atheist Church there is no requirement to be a proclaimed atheist to join the church. In addition to atheist, many church members self-identify as agnostic, skeptic, freethinker, formerly religious, secular humanist, or some other thing. Whatever you like to call yourself, you are welcome here.
